Persists the current step and context of every active journey so that a user can pause and resume without losing progress, and so that a system failure never leaves a journey in an unknown state. Progress indicators ("Step 2 of 5") are driven directly from this state. Operations staff can see where a customer is in a journey and jump to any step for manual intervention.
